Authors' conclusion

In a large real-world population of all comers undergoing TAVR, SAPT was associated with a significantly lower 6-month and 24-month all-cause mortality as compared with DAPT. (Transfusion Requirements in Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation [TRITAVI] Study; NCT03740425).

Study context

Population
Patients undergoing femoral transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) without indication to anticoagulation, recent percutaneous coronary intervention or procedural complications, discharged on single antiplatelet therapy (SAPT) or dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT)remaining after exclusion of 4,557 of 10,071 registry patients
Participants
5,514 patients
Exposure
SAPT vs DAPT after femoral TAVR
  • SAPTn = 3,197reference
  • DAPTn = 2,317
