Association of Carbohydrate Antigen 125 on the Response to Dapagliflozin in Patients With Heart Failure

J Am Coll CardiolPublished

  • Secondary analysis of the DAPA-HF randomised trial

Authors' conclusion

In DAPA-HF, elevated CA125 levels were an independent predictor of the risk of worsening HF or cardiovascular death. Dapagliflozin reduced the risk of worsening HF or cardiovascular death regardless of baseline CA125.

Study context

Population
Patients with HFrEF in the DAPA-HF trialof 4,774 with CA125 data
Participants
3,123 patients
Comparison
Outcomes by baseline CA125; dapagliflozin vs placebo by CA125
Primary endpoint
First episode of worsening heart failure (HF) or CV death
