  • Secondary analysis of the EVALUATE-HF randomised trial

Authors' conclusion

In the EVALUATE-HF trial, increases in mitral e' velocities and decreases in septal E/e' ratio and LAVi were associated with improved KCCQ-12 scores over 24 weeks, after adjusting for treatment assignment.

Study context

Population
Heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) patients randomised to sacubitril-valsartan or enalapril for 12 weeks, then 12 weeks open-label sacubitril-valsartan
Participants
406 patients
Comparison
Changes in echocardiographic measures vs changes in KCCQ-12 scores
Primary endpoint
Association of changes in echocardiographic measures with changes in KCCQ-12-OSS
Follow-up
24 weeks
