- multicenter investigator-initiated single-blinded randomized controlled trial
- 12 Italian centres
- rationale and design
Study context
- Population
- Adult patients diagnosed with inflammatory cardiomyopathy (Infl-CMP) by cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMRI) or fluorodeoxyglucose-positron emission tomography (FDG-PET) within the prior 3 months, with ventricular arrhythmias (VA) or LVSD/heart failure (HF) phenotypepatients randomized since December 2023, 40 patients per group required
- Participants
- Twenty-nine patients
- Planned comparison
- colchicine compared with placebo
- Primary endpoint
- Proportion of patients alive and free from any clinical, arrhythmic, or imaging worsening, and who demonstrate improvement in either imaging or arrhythmic outcomes
- Follow-up
- 6 months
