Authors' conclusion

In P/LP- patients presenting with VT and fulfilling TFC, an aRVi-ECG should raise suspicion for a different underlying aetiology. In P/LP+ patients, an aRVi-ECG may identify those with poor outcome.

Study context

Population
Patients fulfilling task force criteria (TFC) for definite arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC), presenting with sustained ventricular tachycardia (VT), with genetic testing (Netherlands Heart Institute Arrhythmogenic Cardiomyopathy (NHI-ACM) registry)
Participants
159 patients
Exposure
P/LP+ vs P/LP- patients; aRVi-ECG vs no aRVi-ECG
  • P/LP+n = 122
  • P/LP-n = 37
Outcome
aRVi-ECG (PR prolongation ≥220 ms and/or maximum R'-wave surface area in V1-V3 ≥1.65 mm²) on the first ECG after VT
