Authors' conclusion

Individuals with AIIDs are more likely to have elevated Lp(a) (>50 mg/dL and >70 mg/dL). Further study of the relationship between inflammation and Lp(a) in this population is needed.

Study context

Population
Patients with at least 1 Lp(a) measurement, stratified by AIID diagnosis, atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD), or controls (without AIIDs or ASCVD)patients with at least 1 Lp(a) measurement · AIID 7,995 · ASCVD 8,633 · controls 34,741
Participants
49,431 patients
Exposure
AIID vs controls
  • AIIDn = 7,995
  • ASCVDn = 8,633
  • controlsn = 34,741
