Enhancing invasive coronary function testing: Multivessel assessment of coronary microvascular dysfunction in patients with angina and no obstructive coronary artery disease (ANOCA)

Am Heart JPublished prospective registry

Authors' conclusion

Among ANOCA patients ICFT with multivessel CFR assessment identified an additional 10% of patients with CMD only seen in the LCx. Future studies are needed to elucidate the role of multivessel CMD assessment in the management of patients with ANOCA.

Study context

Population
Patients with angina and no obstructive coronary artery disease (ANOCA) who underwent invasive coronary function testing (ICFT) in both the proximal LAD and the left circumflex (LCx) for assessment of coronary flow reserve (CFR)ANOCA patients included in this analysis
Participants
231 patients
Exposure
Multivessel coronary microvascular dysfunction (CMD) vs single vessel CMD
Outcome
Additional patients with CMD (CFR ≤ 2.5) identified by multivessel CFR assessment that would have been missed by LAD assessment only
Methodological detailsconsecutive ICFT using the Doppler method
  • Consecutive ICFT using the Doppler method
