Authors' conclusion

In a real-world registry of S-ICD carriers, the combined study endpoint of arrhythmic events and cardiovascular mortality was lower in the patient cohort undergoing VTA at long-term follow-up.

Study context

Population
iSUSI registry subcutaneous ICD (S-ICD) carriers with an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) shock or hospitalization for monomorphic ventricular tachycardia (VT)of 1661 iSUSI patients
Participants
211 carriers
Exposure
VT ablation vs no VT ablation in S-ICD carriers
  • VT ablation (VTA)+n = 59
  • VTA-n = 152reference
Outcome
Composite of:
  • Device-related appropriate shocks
  • Monomorphic VTs
  • CV mortality
