Cohort study

Lipoprotein(a), Oxidized Phospholipids, and Coronary Artery Disease Severity and Outcomes

J Am Coll CardiolPublished

  • Prospective cohort study

Authors' conclusion

In patients undergoing coronary angiography, Lp(a) and OxPL-apoB are associated with multivessel CAD. Lp(a), OxPL-apoB, and OxPL-apo(a) are associated with incident cardiovascular events.

Study context

Population
Patients referred for coronary angiography (CASABLANCA study)
Participants
1,098 patients
Exposure
Lp, OxPL-apoB and OxPL-apo levels
Outcome
Multivessel coronary artery disease (CAD) (angiographic) and MACE (coronary revascularization, nonfatal MI, nonfatal stroke, CV death)
