Authors' conclusion

Early TR improvement to ≤moderate was observed in almost 3/4 of the population and was associated with significant symptomatic relief. Patients with both severe MR and TR, particularly those with LV dilation, may experience TR improvement following MTEER.

Study context

Population
Patients with severe tricuspid regurgitation (TR) who achieved procedural success with mitral transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (MTEER) with the MitraClip System and received no direct TR interventionevaluable TR data at 30 days
Participants
160 patients
Exposure
30-day TR severity following MTEER: ≤moderate TR vs ≥severe TR
  • ≤moderate TRn = 116
  • ≥severe TRn = 44

Associations with TR improvement post-MTEER

Lower LVEF and larger baseline LV size were associated with TR improvement
