Real-world performance of intrinsic antitachycardia pacing: Primary results from a global prospective postapproval registry study
Authors' conclusion
In routine practice, iATP was highly effective and safe across all VT rates. Although exploratory, iATP had overall superior termination rates and a lower chance of acceleration resulting in shock than standard ATP.
Study context
- Population
- Patients with an Intrinsic ATP (iATP)-enabled implantable cardioverter-defibrillator or cardiac resynchronization therapy-defibrillator deviceenrolled patients, followed for a total of 3200 patient-years, yielding 2575 iATP-treated monomorphic ventricular tachycardia (MVT) episodes
- Participants
- 1,875 patients
- Exposure
- iATP effectiveness in terminating MVT episodes in the fast ventricular tachycardia (VT) zone against >60% objective; post hoc comparison of iATP with standard antitachycardia pacing (ATP) from a retrospective cohort
- iATPn = 1,875
- Outcome
- Termination of MVT episodes in the fast VT zone (objective >60%)
