Routine revascularization with percutaneous coronary intervention in patients with coronary artery disease undergoing transcatheter aortic valve implantation – the third nordic aortic valve intervention trial – NOTION-3

Am Heart JPublished Randomised controlled trial

Study context

Population
Patients with severe AS and significant coronary artery disease (CAD) (≥1 significant percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI)-eligible stenosis: Fractional flow reserve (FFR) ≤0.80 and/or diameter stenosis >90%) planned for transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI)452 planned
Planned comparison
FFR-guided PCI vs medical treatment of CAD, in addition to TAVI
Primary endpoint
Composite of:
  • First occurring all-cause mortality
  • MI
  • Urgent revascularization (PCI or CABG during unplanned hospital admission)
Follow-up
Until the last included patient has been followed for 1 year after TAVI
