Authors' conclusion

Cancer-associated UEDVT carries higher risks of recurrence and bleeding than noncancer UEDVT. Lung cancer showed the greatest recurrence during treatment. Anticoagulation beyond 90 days was associated with a lower post-treatment recurrence.

Study context

Population

Participants

Exposure
Cancer vs no cancer in upper extremity deep vein thrombosis (UEDVT)
