HypertensionCohort study
Optimal or standard control of systolic and diastolic blood pressure across risk factor categories in patients with chronic coronary syndromes
- Prospective cohort study (analysis of the CLARIFY registry)
- multivariable-adjusted Cox model
Authors' conclusion
Our results suggest that the optimal BP target in CCS may be ≤139/79 mmHg and that optimizing the burden of other risk factors should be prioritized over the further reduction of systolic BP.
Study context
- Population
- Patients with chronic coronary syndromes, enrolled 2009–2010, excluding either blood pressure (BP) component below 120/70 mmHgof 32,703 enrolled
- Participants
- 19,167 patients
- Exposure
- Optimal vs standard vs uncontrolled SBP and DBP; number of uncontrolled risk factors
- Outcome
- CV death, MI or stroke
- Follow-up
- 5-year follow-up
