Cangrelor During Percutaneous Coronary Intervention in Patients With Cardiogenic Shock or Cardiac Arrest

JACC Cardiovasc IntervPublished

  • Retrospective registry-based cohort study
  • propensity-score matched
  • SCAAR registry

Authors' conclusion

For patients with cardiogenic shock, administration of cangrelor during PCI was associated with a lower risk for both MACE and all-cause mortality. For patients with cardiac arrest, no such benefit was observed, and a higher risk for major bleeding was found.

Study context

Population
Patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) (2016–2022) for MI with cardiogenic shock or cardiac arrest, Swedish registry (SCAAR)
Participants
3,014 patients
Exposure
Cangrelor vs no cangrelor during PCI
  • Cangrelorn = 1,011
  • No cangrelorn = 2,003reference
Outcome
