Acute cardiac care & resuscitation
Management and Outcomes of Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions Stage B Cardiogenic Shock
Authors' conclusion
Among patients with SCAI stage B cardiogenic shock, a quarter of the population experienced clinical deterioration. Acute kidney injury and diuretic resistance in the preceding 24 hours were independently predictive of developing the primary end point.
Study context
- Population
- Adult patients (≥18 years) admitted to the medical, intermediate, and critical care units who developed Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI) stage B cardiogenic shock, 2017 to 2022patients who developed SCAI stage B cardiogenic shock
- Participants
- 500 patients
- Comparison
- Deterioration cohort vs those who recovered
- Deterioration cohortn = 135
- Outcome
- Composite of:
- Transfer to a higher level of care
- SCAI stage escalation
- In-hospital mortality
