Vascular Remodeling in Coronary Microvascular Dysfunction

JACC Cardiovasc ImagingPublished

  • Prospective cohort study

Authors' conclusion

Patients with CMD and high minimal microvascular resistance have smaller epicardial vessels than those without CMD. Coronary CTA detected high minimal microvascular resistance with very good diagnostic capacity.

Study context

Population
Patients with ANOCA undergoing continuous thermodilution assessment and coronary computed tomography angiography (CTA)
Participants
153 patients
Exposure
Coronary microvascular dysfunction (CMD) and high microvascular resistance vs Controls
  • CMDn = 68
  • CMD and high microvascular resistancen = 22
Outcome
Minimal microvascular resistance and associated vascular remodeling (lumen volume by coronary CTA)

Main finding

As reported in the abstract
